I had bought a wireless broadband connection from tikona digital services. My tikona customer ID number:1100037902 in 012, because of signal problems, I decided to terminate the connection and logged in my request for termination of services on 14th april, 2012 on tikona's customer care helpline. They even gave me a request number. The number was: 872. I had categorically stated that my request is for termination, but tikona treated this as a request for fixing the signal problem. I repeatedly called them to clarify that the request was for termination. But they DID not listen. And kept generating bills months after months (and I wasn't even using the broadband, there was no signal.) Fed up with this, on june 4, 012, I wrote a mail to the tikona appelate authority mr. Sunil nair (head - customer service quality)to bring to his notice this shocking behavior, I also marked tikona's customer care on the mail. Soon after the mail, tikona called me to say sorry and gave me a verbal insurance that my bills generated after my request for termination (made on 14th april, 012) will be cancelled. But that DID not happen. They kept generating the bills. On june 6, 2012 they sent me a mail saying that my request for termination is now officially logged in. Please note that the request for termination that was made on 14, april, 2012 was officially logged in only on june 6, 2012 - two months later. And they kept generating bills right upto july, 012. Today, on august 8 012, I received a call from mr. Vishal - a lawyer at tees hazari court, new delhi. He claimed to be speaking on behalf of tikona and threatened to file a lawsuit for non-payment of bills. He said the case would be withdrawn/Not filed if I pay the outstanding amount immediately (rs. 1521)within one hour. I knew that I was not liable to pay tikona anything. But fearing a lawsuit, I paid the money (rs. 530) by netbanking to tikona. The gateway payment ID for the transaction is: 8505 I was not liable to pay the money that I paid. I was forced/Threatened to pay it. Please log in a case against tikona, bring them to justice and get them to return my money. I have all the email correspondence with me as evidence. Jai hind!
I can understand your pain being a stupid user of tikona.
I read your article and realised that you made two mistake. First you brought tikona connection and on top of that you paid the outstanding amount. If I would have been at your place I would have challenged them.
Today I got a bill for the last 4 months rs 16000 but I am not complaining and not going to pay for the terminated account. If they file a case let them do it. If you did nothing wrong why you have to worry? :-)
