Bank of baroda branch returned the SBI cheque

Sir, I deposited a cheque no. 8966 dated 2012 issued by sbi branch, sikar, in my bank a/C no.1XXXXXXXXX9269, but the same is returned by the bank with an objection of that the instrument is out of date. But as per the rules of rbi, if the cheque is issued prior to 2012 than the validity of cheques will be 6 months. So, how can they returned my cheque without any rule.So, I want to file a complaint against branch of bank of baroda at chirawa dist. Jhunjhunu(rajasthan)to pay my cheque amount with interest and penalty of rs. 000.
