Passport police verification is done but showing something else

My police verification is done. When I check my application status online. Then I saw this status " your application has been transferred to the policy section please see the pro." What does it mean. What is this policy section.

I got my passport today I have applied for reissue of passport on 17-sept-2012 in bangalore. It took 27 days for me. Actually it would have completed before 20 days as I delayed for police verification as I am out of staion else would have received it in 15 to 20 days.

1) rpo will send the request for police verification on the same day you file your passport application.

2) your local police verification will be done based on your address. Then they will send the report to the commissioner office.

3) your details will be verifed by the commissioner office and they will send the report to the rpo.

4) rpo will print your passport and dispatch it in 3 days from the receipt of police verification report.

Note : in mean time status will change according to process. It has to undergo many status.

Now police stations and rpo have online tool and they will update as soon they complete their work.

But most of the people passport is delayed bcoz of the "clear police verification report". This means commissioner office update their findings online. And rpo starts printing your passport and wait for hard copy of your police verification report. Once rpo receive it your passport will be dispatched. If your documents are proper then it will not be delayed. Try to give more than one address proof to police verification. Be prepre with clear documents before filing your passport.

It doesnt mean that online update of your poloce verification from police station/Commissionar office is completed your verification for the rpo. It only to make process faster for rpo as they start printing your passport based on the online input from the police station/Commissionar office. And they will dispatch your passport once they receive the hard copy of your verification report from police station/Commissionar office.
