Police asking bribe Rs 500 for passport verification

Hi, I have applied for change in address and name in my passport for which I needed a post verification but I am surprised tha passport office lady send this application for pre verification. After this I got a call from police station sector 20 that we received your passport application and I will come to your place you be ready with documents. I was with my husband at my home, this guy came, we offered water he said no.. then he was friendly all the documents were produced by us, he took my sign and then kept on sitting, when I moved inside room he asked my husband about 500 rs .. he said for what?? reply was this is rule.. nothing will go in my pocket ..it will be divided in police station and if you will not give then it would be paid by my pocket which will then be a problem for you. We asked that we have 300 in home you take this he said no .. then he said I have some work I will come back till then you be ready with money. And hence we had to give this bribe. This is a shameful thing that , although we pay 1000 as fees in passport office still we need to pay such a big amount for no reasons to such people. Now my application is in ssp office sector 14a noida..and I am sure I will be asked for bribe there too ..
