Police verification for fresh passport

I have applied for fresh passport in guwahati through passport seva kendra on 012, my file no. Is gu1060345305912, I received a call from paltan bazar police station on 07/06/2012 for verification, me along with my younger brother went to police station and submitted all the documents required by them, the officer in charges said that all the papers are ok and the files (mine as well as my brothers file) will be sent to sp office with next 2 days (maximum), but till 14/06/2012 files were not dispatched to sp office, then, I make a call to police station to know the status of my file, they said that my file is ok, but to proceed the same to sp office rs. 00/- Is required per file, please look into the matter, guide me what should I do.
