Yesterday I have received a call saying we are calling from irda and you have got the maturity benefit of rs.253000 on all your insurance policies you have taken in your lifetime so far and you have transferred that benefit to your friend mr. Neeraj gupta from chandigarh is it right? it is just a confirmation call. I said know I don't know any neeraj gupta. Then they told me we have sent you a letter on 26 dec 2011 on your address and got the reply also saying that I am not able to get that benefit and my friend will fulfill all the formalities and take the benefit on my behalf.(Actually there was a twist for getting that benefit you need to present one new policy of about rs 0000 which they will cancel after 3 months and transfer all your benefit and this policy amount to your account in next 101days and that so called my friend neeraj has complete all the formality)so I told them know I don't know any neeraj and want to take my benefit what should I do? they told me call my senior mr. Rakesh bajaj (08527569141)he'LL only help you. I called him and he told me the same thing the someone have done a fraud with you so if you want to take that benefit you need to buy one new policy and provide me the cheque no and the applicant no of the policy we will register the same and generate you policy presentation number and after 3months and 11 days you will get all your benefit and this new policy amount because we will cancel that new policy also this rs 0000 is just for security. They told me you will get a call from our delhi or hyderabad office and they will explane you the process. After some time I got a call and they explane me everything. Initially I was ready to take the policy but after talking to some of my friends they told me irda never calls anyone. It is definitely a fraud call to sell policies. So now I decided not to go for any policy or any benefit. Never go for any money which is not your hard earned. But irda must do something for this kind of frauds. People who do not realize got cheated. Please don't act on that kind of calls
I just now recieved the same call as I was told the same as you explained. Request irda to take action against such people.
