Tata indicom is an enemy of internet startups

It was a very sad day when I believed the sales talk from a tata indicom sales person and signed up for a broadband connection with them. I was under the wrong impression that paying 3 times the market price for broadband service will guarantee good service. But since then I have had to deal with nothing but complete incompetence from tata indicom's staff and fraudulent behavior from this brand that I had trusted until now. After jumping through lots of hoops, I obtained permission from my commercial complex to let tata install their lines in the building. This would open the opportunity for a lot of new business to tata in my office complex - particularly because they had been unsuccessful in obtaining this permission before. But the entire experience with tata was very miserable: -first asif khan from their installation team was extremely rude and needed constant reminders about completing the installation. It took them over 10 days from the start date to final activation - mostly because they would just "forget" about the installation -my internet service was activated on february 27th, but they started billing me from february 23rd onwards itself. I filed a complaint (complaint # 588) which was going to be resolved in 48 hours. But until today it remains unresolved -then when I availed the free value added service and registered a domain name which was part of the package that I had bought - tata recorded the wrong whois information attributing ownership of the domain name to someone else. Anyone in the internet business would know how big of an error this is. I was promised that the issue will be fixed in 2 days. But it took them more than 30 days and constant reminders to fix it. -When I checked my first bill - there were gross inaccuracies: they charged me rs. 2500 + taxes for static ip address - as per the the plan that I had signed up for, this should have been free with my plan -the upload/Download bandwidth details for march are inaccurate. It showed a download of 19g of data in one single day on march 20th. Firstly, it is impossible to download that much data in 24 hours on tata's connection. Secondly, our office works for only 10 hours a day - so downloading that kind of data in 10 hours is completely impossible. -Anytime I call the customer-support number, tata indicom staff is least interested in helping out. They constantly make excuses to get me off the line. They even recommend sending an email to customer service email address - why can't billing issues be solved on the phone? only after insisting really hard, they accept to deal with the situation on the phone - but without any result. -I have spoken to floor supervisors on 3 separate occasions, who guaranteed a 24 hour resolution. But guess what, no resolution. -I have followed up over email at least 5 times but no response yet -I have followed up on phone at least 9 times so far, but no resolution yet -I sent an email to @tatacommunications.Com on april 4th - but no response as yet. -Tried calling the appellate authority at 6898 but no one picks up the phone. -On top of this, I received calls from really rude folks from tata, asking me to pay the balance. They would refuse to listen anything about inaccuracy in the bill -now they have suspended my internet service citing pending balance tata sales guys tried to pitch tata sme solutions to me. There is no way in this life-time that I will trust tata with my valuable sme business. Tata is an enemy of start-up's. I am cautioning everyone whose business relies on the interent - to stay away from tata indicom.
